Cicada Films, also known as Cicada Productions, is a multi-award winning, BAFTA nominated, independent production company founded by the late Frances Berrigan in the early 1990s. A trail-blazer of her time, Frances and Cicada were known for their insightful, popular and high quality documentary films. The subjects of her projects spanned archeology, natural history and anthropology - and included misogynist golf clubs, Cold War spies and suburban swingers.

Since Frances' sudden passing in 2014, the company no longer produces new titles, however its extensive back catalogue is still available to be viewed and licensed through both distributors and the company itself.

Her daughter Johanna Berrigan and son Sam Berrigan Taplin are now the sole Directors of the company.
